Balmain X H&M

Earlier this week it was announced that H&M's next designer collaboration would be with one of the most sought after fashion houses at the moment, Balmain. The super young Olivier Rousteing has done an incredible job at re-inventing the epitome of French luxury fashion Balmain into a young, fresh-faced must have brand that everyone from the Kardashians and Kanye West to well me wants a piece of in their wardrobe. And that's one of the main reasons why I love the H&M designer collaborations, they cater for everyone no matter how large their wallet is. It's also the perfect opportunity for a brand to reach out to a much larger audience without having to lose their identity of themselves in doing so. Balmain is fun and full of energy, with extreme levels of craftsmanship. The news was actually revealed at the Billboard Music Awards with Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn dressed in and revealing some pieces form the collection and what can I say, they looked amazing (obviously) so much so you couldn't tell whether or not it was for H&M or their mainline. I just thought, will their be a menswear line? I hope so! In fact I think their probably will be. Won't there? Anyway all that matters is that both Olivier Rousteing and H&M have fun during their collaboration. With Olivier stating "I want to talk to my generation: this is my main aim as a designer" and H&M saying the following "We are excited to have Balmain as our guest designer at H&M and create a truly involving experience for everybody". What's also interesting, well I thought it was anyway is that I recently watched an interview with Raf Simons and he's says in the video that fashion can only survive with collaborations and then I discovered that Balmain would be the next fashion house to participate with the Swedish high-street giant. The Balmain x H&M collection hits around 250 stores worldwide and online at hm.com on November 5th 2015.

That is it for another week. What do you think of Balmain collaborating with H&M later this year? Leave a comment in the comments section, I'm dying to know what everybody think. You may have been able to telling from reading above that I"m super excited. Oh and also can anyone believe it's been just over a year since Alexander Wang revealed he would be the collaborator with H&M for 2014 at Coachella last year? Seriously it feels like yesterday when I wrote a blog post on that collaboration. See you all later for yet another week.
